Ireland strikes back
There was another Irish victory in the CSI2* Grand Prix, presented by the International School of Brescia
The string of outstanding performances by Irish riders at Scuderia La Caccia goes on. Following yesterday’s Nations Cup, Irish riders took first and third place in this morning’s CSI2* Grand Prix, presented by the International School of Brescia. Niall Talbot topped the class aboard his reliable FTS Elliot (aged 17). The pair performed a perfect clear competition, with a lightning-fast time in the jump-off of 40.18 seconds. Meanwhile, 24-year-old Abbie Sweetnam took third place with Kiritan (0/0; 42.04).
Talbot’s time was over a second and a half faster than Britain’s Chad Fellows, who took second place with Creevyquinn Pearl (0/0; 41.95). Of the 79 pairs who started, only nine made it through to the jump-off.
Among them was Paolo Paini representing Italy, who finished fourth with Seventyobolensky (0/0; 42.82); Clio Boni took fifth place with Conbalou (0/0; 48.33), and the 16-year-old Andrea Pisani took sixth place with H5 Chacco’s Charlie PS (0/4; 43.86).
