Italy secured first win at the CSIO3* in Bedizzole
Thirty-sixth in the starting order, Emilio Bicocchi wasted no time in searching for benchmarks for his performance and immediately made his intention clear for the opening class of the CSIO3* LES Scuderia la Caccia, which was an overture to the Italian national anthem.
And so it was. Riding Hemerald d’Argonne, a nine-year-old Selle Français, Bicocchi took the lead, stopping the clock at 62.88 seconds.
This time was unbeatable, and no one among the 78 starters was able to challenge it. Second-place finisher Francesca Ciriesi with Scendixblue managed no better than 65.01 seconds. This was not enough to catch Bicocchi, but eventually it was enough to leave Swiss rider Christoph Konemann with Le Roi (0/65.56) in third place on the podium.
